01The site
Velvet Solitaire is free to play in your browser. It's provided as is: we work to keep it running and the rules correct, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of bugs, and we may change, add or remove features at any time.
02Your games and statistics
Your statistics and settings are stored in your own browser. If your browser data is cleared, they're gone, and we have no copy to restore. Please don't rely on the site to keep records you care about.
03Fair play on the leaderboards
There are two kinds of leaderboard: the Daily Challenge boards and the weekly board for most wins in normal games. Both only mean something if everyone plays by the same rules. Every win submitted to either one is verified by replaying its moves on our server, and by submitting a result you agree to these rules:
- Play every game yourself. Bots, scripts, solvers and any other program that chooses or makes moves for you are not allowed.
- Don't submit a win that a solver worked out, whether a program sends it or you copy its moves by hand.
- One ranked attempt per person per game per day in the Daily Challenge. Don't use extra browsers, devices, private windows or cleared data to get more ranked tries or to preview the deal.
- Don't tamper with the game, the timer or the data your browser sends, and don't submit results any other way.
- Don't post solutions to a daily deal before that day is over.
04When the rules are broken
Every submitted win, on the daily boards and the weekly board alike, is replayed move by move on our server and only real wins count, but that can't catch everything. We may remove results, nicknames or players from the leaderboards when we believe these rules were broken.
05Nicknames
Pick a nickname that's fine for everyone to see. No insults, hate, sexual content, personal information, or pretending to be someone else. Nicknames are unique, so no two active players can use the same one, whatever the capital letters. If you're inactive for 30 days, your nickname is released and someone else may claim it; your past results stay on the boards under a neutral name like Player 4F2A. You can change yours at any time in Settings, and we may change or remove a nickname that breaks these rules.
06Using the site
Don't try to break, overload or attack the site, get around its rate limits, or scrape it in bulk. Sharing deal links and your results is welcome. The site's text and design are ours, so please don't copy them wholesale; the games themselves are traditional and belong to everyone. Blog articles are written with the help of AI and are offered as general information.
07Liability
Velvet Solitaire is a free game. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for any loss from using it, including lost statistics or leaderboard results. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that can't be waived.
